What was your inspiration for writing it, is it part of an ongoing series, the characters, the genre etc? Jasper, The Guardian League, Book One is my latest book. The idea came to me one day of Guardian Angels falling in love, on Earth, and doing normal everyday things we human beings enjoy, courting the human of their choice. I figured a Paranormal Romance with these simple but heart felt concepts would be a great read so I ventured out to start the Guardian League Series, which will end up a 5 book series, each featuring a Guardian Angel who “fell,” taking the plunge into a unique type of love that fulfills both human and Angel. How many books have you written during your career so far and which is your favorite? I’ve written several but only published two so far: Nightfall and Jasper, The Guardian League, Book One. Choosing a favorite is difficult because each book is different. If I had to choose between the two, I’d probably pick Nightfall. Nightfall/Josh’s character is everything I’d love in a ‘perfect’ man: loving, slightly wicked, willing to please, sexy, great sense of humor, self-made independent entrepreneur. I would love to have him as my boyfriend! Do you believe in writer’s block and if so, how do you overcome it? Yes, it’s very real and I’ve experienced this several times. It’s a frustrating time where you have to step back and walk away from your book. It actually is good for you because after a time away, you can look at the book with “fresh” eyes and with more hope than you had before. It also gives you a chance to experience life and that’s where authors usually get their material to write books. If a reader said they wanted to write a book, what advice would you give them? I can’t gloss over the hard work you will encounter because writing is a very big task and it is not what you’ll end up doing. As an author, you will most likely write 25% of your time while the other 75% will be seeking reviews, marketing your books on all types of sites, making connections that hopefully will last a lifetime, maintaining a blog, author website, running contests and giveaways, attending book fairs, signings, and participating in takeovers, spotlights, interviews, and anything you can come up with to market your talent. If after reading this you still want to write, I say “go for it” and do all you can to learn about the industry. The writing industry is a give all or none at all business and if you are willing to give of yourself and your hard work, do it and don’t give up. There will be many times you’ll want to but don’t. Your hard work will pay off in the end. Did you find it hard to start writing? Not really. I’ve always been the one to prefer writing an essay than figure out a mathematical equation. The hard parts about writing are the technical aspects of it: formats for your book, grueling editing projects that actually benefits your book in the end and understanding the famous “don’t tell, show” saying that all authors are faced with. I will say; however, the hardest part is finding a publisher. I was fortunate to find mine within a week of submitting my book, Nightfall (the second time I tried). If you could cast your own characters from your books, who would you choose? Hmmm. I’m not very familiar with the young stars of today but I will say Chris Hemsworth with his long hair would cast very well as suave, sexy, coffee-connoisseur Centurion, the 2nd Angel in the Guardian League Series. What makes you laugh? A lot of things. Life, in general. I try to keep a good sense of humor and I try to help others feel happy, whenever I can. Little things like compliments can make a big difference to someone having a hard day. I’ve been told that people like my laugh and that my laugh makes others giggle along. I sure hope so because life is hard enough and we all need to have joyful moments. Do you like to read and what are you reading at the moment? Nothing right now but I’ve recently discovered an excellent author, Terry Towers, and I’ve been reading some of her books. The last book I finished a couple of days ago and it was “My Hero, My Stepbrother.” I love the taboo aspect of a step-brother falling for his step-sister. How neat and deliciously wicked at the same time. Tell us what a typical day in your life is like? Mondays through Fridays I work a forty hour per week job but after hours my nights vary with trying to get some writing or editing done, updating my Facebook pages, possibly writing a blog if the mood strikes, and finally spending some time with my husband- most likely watching TV and having dinner. I am very spontaneous when it comes to doing things so you might see me, last minute, shopping for food or in a retail store searching for something or having dinner with my hubby in a restaurant. What one word would you use to describe yourself? Dependable. When I say I’m going to do something, I do it. My mom taught me to stand by my word and I have held fast to this ever since. If I commit to something, I will do it. It’s not often that I promise something but when I do, it is imprinted in my brain until it’s actually done. Favourite food, drink, film, color, song, book, TV show? Favorite food? I have to say spaghetti. I love Italian food. Favorite drink? Coffee- hot or iced, it doesn’t matter. Most days I can’t go without at least one cup. Favorite Color? Blue. Favorite song? There are so many, it’s hard to pinpoint just one but there are some that absolutely give me goosebumps because they are so beautiful. One of my favorites is: My Immortal by Evanescence. It’s so haunting and sad and it’s beautiful. Favorite book? Jasper, The Guardian League, Book One (wink). Actually, I don’t have one favorite book. I love several genres. However, one of my favorite authors is Dean Koontz. Favorite TV Show? Right now, it’s My Crazy Ex. It’s interesting how people are and the crazy things they do. Jasper Book Blurb: Tatiana seeks rare, coveted treasure: a strong, loving, committed male she can respect, be proud of and become her full-fledged, partner. She has sought this elusive prince among men, her own personal champion but instead found many, many frogs and quite a few toads. Does her hero exist on Earth or did she miss her opportunity? Jasper isn’t seeking a mate. His only intention is to rescue Tatiana from a fatal car accident, but he finds himself drawn to her in ways he can’t explain. She’s a rare, precious gem and there’s no turning back for him. He must know her and introduce himself in some sort of “human” fashion, at some sort of “human” event, for he is not of Earth. Once Tatiana finds out Jasper’s true identity, will she accept and trust him? Will Tatiana allow herself to enter into a permanent, loving relationship with an unearthly but powerful being who only wants to adore and protect her?
